Still in Ohio, what with the weather-y goings on yesterday. Hoping that my flight this afternoon will actually be... you know... flying.

Back to work in the morning, 4 a.m., which was precisely why I wanted to fly home yesterday. But what are you gonna do?


Step!Laura put Torchwood on the Netflix, and I didn't even have to beg. ;) Apparently, she and Dad never saw the first couple episodes. They're also not caught up on Doctor Who! The last one they saw was "The Girl Who Waited". I'm going to have to remedy that.

Now to watch Gwen break into Torchwood using the clever ruse of Pizza Delivery Girl.

Anyway, I'm in Ohio at my Dad's, watching my brother play Portal 2 and lamenting the fact that the damn Quick Rise Yeast I used for the Honey Sticky Pecan Buns seems to actually be No-Rise Yeast. Oh well, baking them anyway, and hoping that there's something to be salvaged. I think the thing to do is chalk it up to SCIENCE!

Also, Portal 2 looks awesome and I wanna play it so bad.

I'm only on track 2 ("Shake It Out") but I'm in love with this album already. Yay, Florence!



Am writing and editing and trying to make myself read a book (or four. Why can't I ever just do ONE THING AT A TIME?)

Anyway. Hoping to put up another chapter of Noble Intentions tonight or at latest, some time tomorrow. I must hunt down every typo. And yet, I know I'll still miss at least one. Le sigh.


Wrote a short Who fic fairy tale thing yesterday. I'm letting it sit and marinate before I do anything with it, though. Stand alone? Framing device? Oh, the possibilities!


Work was actually kind of fun today. Most of my favorite people were around in the department I do most of my work in, and I got to kind of relax and talk to them. Which was good, because my brain is foggy with stories and my ever-increasing need for sleep.

I suspect that I am preparing to hibernate.


Don't know what I'm doing for Thanksgiving this year. At least, not day of. Suspect I will do some turkey-related things at the weekend, if nothing else. I am not looking forward to working Black Friday, but at least I know my suffering will be over by ten a.m. Unless I decided to try to glom some extra hours. Which I really should.


Also: I really, really want a hamburger.
